Welcome to Marmora & Lake Public Library!

Our online library provides you with easy access to information you can trust. Your membership allows you to view library eResources, and download eBooks and audiobooks.  Without a membership, you still have access to all other website features.  Browse the library catalogue, access external resource links within the eLibrary and in our Kid Zone, or find out more about the library...including how you can join! If you have any questions about our online library, please contact us and we'll be happy to assist you.

Important Notice 
The Memorial Building is a scent-free building. For medical reasons we ask that NO scented perfumes, colognes, after shave lotions, etc. be worn. Even a small amount can produce a severe allergic reaction. We also ask that you do not smoke immediately before entering, as cigarette odour is also a trigger. Easter Weekend closure - March-18-15

The library will be closed Easter Weekend from April 3rd to April 6th.

We will reopen Tuesday Apr. 7th at 10 a.m.

Where can you find the perfect reading buddy?

Join the Paws for Reading Program at Marmora & Lake Public Library.

Paws for Reading
is a free program designed to help and

encourage children learning to read. Come and meet

Munchkin and her owner, Cathy.

To participate in the Paws for Reading Program, please

register at the library, by calling us at 613-472-3122

or email us at info@marmoralibrary.ca.

Dogs can be ideal reading buddies for struggling readers.

They listen
attentively, allow children to read at their own

pace, and never criticize or laugh. Best of all, they allow

children to relax and have fun with reading.

Each child can read for 10-15 minutes with Munchkin and

session at a time.

Time: Wednesdays 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Ontario Public Library Week - October-09-12

October is Canadian Public Library Month, with Ontario Public Library Week held from the 14th to the 20th.  This year's theme is Libraries Connect.  To celebrate, we will be releasing a series of 3 videos, demonstrating a new way to connect to your library.  We will show you step-by-step how to set up your eReader (Sony, Kobo Vox, or iPad) so you can borrow books electronically, from the comfort of your own home.  We will post an announcement here when they are available for viewing in the Video section of the website. 


Changes to eResources - July-28-12

Grzimek’s Animal Life is no longer available. Similar content can be found in Gale’s Virtual Reference Library. It includes two eBooks from Grzimek’s: Grzimek's Animal Life Encyclopedia, 2nd ed., 2003 (17 volumes), and Grzimek's Student Animal Life Resource, 2005 (21 volumes).

TumbleReadables is now TumbleBookCloud.  The same great resources are available, as well as video and graphic novels.

Kids Zone -  for kids 6-12

Kids Zone is a fun place for older children to learn and play.  Includes links for homework help, games, cool stuff, and reading resources.

Teen Resources

Teen eResources include information on a variety of topics including health, career paths, post-secondary education, and obtaining a Driver's License.
